Chub AI is a character-based chat platform for long-form AI roleplay and collaborative fiction, grown out of the CharacterHub card repository. Users browse community-created character cards and chat with them through the platform's hosted models, through their own third-party API keys, or through locally hosted model backends. Configuration runs deep: system prompts, sampler settings, and lorebooks can all be adjusted per chat, and character cards can be imported and exported in standard formats. The platform states that its in-house models are not trained on user chats.

The subscription costs $20 per month, paid in cryptocurrency only, and includes unlimited messaging on the in-house Soji model with a 60,000-token context window, plus voice output and multimedia generation. New users periodically receive one-time trial credits covering a few dozen messages, and free use is possible indefinitely by connecting an external API key or a self-hosted model. Chub AI is an 18+ service that permits unfiltered adult roleplay with fictional characters.
