DaVinci Resolve

About DaVinci Resolve

DaVinci Resolve is a video post-production application from Blackmagic Design for Mac, Windows and Linux that combines editing, color correction, Fusion visual effects and Fairlight audio in one program. Its AI tools run on the DaVinci Neural Engine, which handles smart reframing, object detection, speed warp retiming and super scale. Version 21 adds IntelliSearch for content search and CineFocus for focal-point adjustment, and Fairlight includes AI effects such as Voice Isolation.

Resolve is available in two versions, and neither requires a subscription. The free version works with most 8-bit formats at up to 60 frames per second and 3840 x 2160 resolution, and includes multi-user collaboration and HDR grading. DaVinci Resolve Studio is a one-time purchase, listed at $236 against a previous price of $295 as of November 2026, and adds the Neural Engine, text-based editing, Magic Mask, noise reduction, 10-bit video up to 120 frames per second and resolutions beyond 4K. The application is a large download with a steeper learning curve than consumer editors.
