It handles writing, editing, analysis, coding, and document review, with file uploads and long-context work as core use cases. As of mid-2026 the default model on free and Pro plans is Claude Sonnet 5, which supports up to a 1M-token context in chat; higher tiers add access to Opus-class models. Features include Projects for organizing ongoing work, Research mode, voice conversations, memory, and connectors for Slack and Google Workspace.
Pricing follows a freemium model. The free plan provides a capped usage budget that resets in rolling sessions. Claude Pro costs $20/mo, or $17/mo billed annually, and adds higher limits plus the Claude Code, Cowork, Design, and Science surfaces and Microsoft 365 integration. Max plans at $100 and $200 per month provide 5x and 20x Pro usage with priority access during peak demand.
